Wedding Cakes

We work individually with each couple to create a custom wedding cake that us personalized and special to signify the importance of this momentous occasion. Whether you prefer a beautiful classic design in white, or want to show off your unique style with a bit of color and flair, our wedding cakes will dazzle your guests with their beauty and taste. 

Standard shaped cake pricing starts at $5.50 per serving. Serving size is determined by the industry standard sized slice of 1"x 2"x 4". This base price is for our popular Semi-Naked style. 

Fully iced cakes are priced at $6.00 per serving and increase from there based on the complexity of your design. 

Fondant covered cakes are priced starting at $10.00 per serving. 3-dimensional carved or sculpted cake pricing starts at $10.00 per serving, with a 50 serving minimum. This base price may increase based on the complexity of your design.

Cupcakes & Dessert Shooters

Impress your guests with our unique and delectably delicious cupcakes and dessert shooters to create a unique dessert table. These sweet treats provide creative beauty with single serve simplicity for your guests, and are perfect for weddings and special events. Our cupcakes are available in the same flavors and frosting/filling options as our cakes. 

Standard sized cupcakes are priced starting at $4.00 per serving. Mini cupcakes are priced starting at $2.00 per serving. They are both sold by the dozen and only in conjunction with a cake/other desserts. 

You can get even more creative goodness with our dessert shooters, as they are available in both cake and pie flavors! Dessert Shooters are priced starting at $4.00 per serving. They are also sold by the dozen and only in conjunction with a cake/other desserts. 

These are base prices only, your specific price will depend on and increase based on the complexity of your design.

Wedding Cake Tastings

How much are wedding cake tastings, and what do they entail?

Our wedding cake tastings are $25.00 and they include a variety of cake and frosting/filling combinations to sample. The fee for your tasting is due at the time that it is booked. Should you decide to reserve your event date with us, this fee will be deducted from the total cost of your order (this applies to cake orders of 100 servings or more). During the consultation we will discuss the design of your cake, so please bring any pictures, fabric swatches, or any other items you think will help convey the feel of your special day. 

The cake tasting typically lasts for approximately 45 minutes, so we ask that you arrive on time to ensure that you are allotted your full time. 

Should you need to reschedule or cancel, we ask that you do so via your appointment confirmation email 24-48 hours in advance of your appointment time. Refunds will not be issued for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice due to the bake prep needed for the appointment.

Order & Payment Information

Order inquiries are accepted by phone at (205) 565-8667 via email, and online through our Cakes by Kim Contact Form. So that each individual order can receive the love and care that it needs, we accept a limited number of orders each week. Because wedding cakes are typically booked pretty far in advance, it is best to contact us early in your planning process to ensure that we have your date available. The majority of our weddings are booked 6 months to 1 year in advance, others are booked within a 3 to 5 month time frame prior to the wedding date. Please note that the longer you wait to place your order, the greater the likelihood that your date will be unavailable.

Cakes by Kim is pleased to announce that we now accept payments through the Square Cash App and PayPal for your convenience! We will also continue to accept payments via cash, check and money order. Most wedding orders are divided between 2-4 equal payments depending on the balance due and the amount of time before your event date. A non-refundable retainer is required to place your order, and the final payment is due in full one month prior to your event date to complete your order. Please note that your order will not be fulfilled if your final payment has not been received.

Cancellation:

1. All requests for cancellation must be made in writing via email.

2. Retainers are non-refundable and non-transferable as they reserve your event date. We are a small custom bakery that takes a limited number of orders each week. Once your event date is reserved, it is very likely that other orders will not be accepted so that your order can receive the care and attention that's needed to make it both delicious and beautiful!

Delivery & Set-Up

We are happy to deliver our cakes & confections within the greater Birmingham metropolitan area and beyond. Please contact us for delivery charges, as the price of the delivery will vary based on distance and whether you have a cake or a dessert table order. We regret that we are unable ship our cakes and confections at this time.
